Beckhard was a partner of architect Marcel Breuer. Their collaborations in Litchfield include Litchfield High School (1954-56), Stillman House II (1965) and Gagarin House I (1956-57).

This birdhouse was created for the Birdhouse Auction, an annual benefit for the Litchfield Historical Sociey.
