Julius Deming (1755-1838), after a portrait
miniature in the collection of the Litchfield Historical Society Julius Deming was a merchant who made his fortune in the China trade in the years after the Revolutionary War. This portrait, one of a group of four portraits commissioned by a 20th century Deming descendent, was copied from a miniature. Related Highlights:
